Elena Pecci

Figurative & Surrealist Painter

An Italian artist in Copenhagen

I am an Italian artist from Modena, now based in Copenhagen, where I have developed my artistic practice and established my atelier.

My background combines artistic education, visual communication and digital design. This multidisciplinary foundation has shaped the way I see and interpret the world, influencing my approach to images, composition, colour and visual storytelling.

Artistic Education

I graduated from the Istituto d’Arte Adolfo Venturi in Modena, Italy, in 1999, receiving a Diploma di Maestro d’Arte in Graphic Advertising.

My five-year education included drawing from life, sculpture studies, painting with different media, colour techniques, art history, photography and darkroom techniques, as well as graphic design.

I later continued my studies in Design and Communication at Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and Multimedia Design at KEA in Copenhagen.

My Artistic Language

My work moves between figurative painting and surrealism. Images, memories and visual associations emerge spontaneously in my imagination and develop into poetic, dreamlike compositions.

As I paint, their deeper meanings often unfold gradually, sometimes becoming clear only towards the completion of a work.

Painting allows me to give these inner images a tangible form. It is both a creative necessity and a source of freedom, calm and fulfilment.

Transformation is at the heart of my artistic language.

Inspirations

My visual imagination is shaped by my Italian roots, the colours of Latin America and the landscapes of the Nordic countries. Nature, its forms and changing rhythms continue to inspire my work.

Where Reality Blossoms into Dreams.
